It’s ironic that my first post shows me in a pink dress…when I was three years old I drove my parents nuts because I refused to go anywhere unless I was wearing a pink dress! I was already very conscious of what I wanted needed demanded to look like. The other toddlers at preschool couldn’t possibly see me wearing just anything! Fast-forward 30 years, and I am still equally fashion obsessed.
Being out of the ordinary and standing out through fashion has always been my thing, my way of expressing myself, and absolutely no one, or nothing in the world can come in the way of Style, not even pregnancy.
I choose to challenge the misconception most people have that being pregnant means letting go of their image and turning in their heels. NOWAY: I can look hot and sexy even if I have a bun in the oven! (and that’s why I chose to launch this blog PREGNANT ?)
With this post I want to take it a step further and share how I still manage to shop my favorite collections, even if I am with child.
So here it is: a few practical tips to help anyone do the same.
The dress you see here is not just your average pink dress and it is perfect for me now and post baby bump-my three-year-old self would most certainly approve of it!
Tip #1 of shopping for a pregnant body:
Straight cut dresses are ideal: your belly will fill it now, making it form fitting and when you give birth you can just add a belt to accentuate your (very missed) waist. This dress actually came with a large black waist belt that I can’t wait to wear with it.
Tip #2: Accessorize!
These shoes are my idea of perfection: white pumps with a pointy toe and gold heel .The platform makes it contemporary and modern, the shape is classic, I just LOVE these.
And this cuff, the perfect final touch to tie the look together: a leather accessory has my name all over it, and it is large enough to grab attention. Arm candy is a must this year, so wear yours with pride! You cant go wrong here:one size fits all.
At the risk of being totally politically incorrect, I will say that my favorite accessory on this photo is… none other than my son Nathan! So much swag in a tiny body! His skinny jeans, striped tee and suspenders give him that stylish je ne sais quoi, and the boat loafers are just the cherry on top!
Tip #3: Stay Trendy!
This season, bright colors are the rage. Don’t be afraid to play with it! Summer is about fun and freedom, and color is the best way to show your spirit and personality.
Nathan and I may look somewhat out of place at the park, but who said you can’t look good while you play in the sand? That’s what it’s all about when you are Infashionated.

I love the cuff, the shoes, the pink dress! I love the photo with your handsome son!
For me, it its not the heels, because I mostly wear flats anyway, but I totally relate that being pregnant is not an excuse to let go and get ugly… Most women have a “glow” that its partially induced by sex hormones! Let’s keep it real, pregnancy can be your SEXIEST time ever, inside and out!!!
Love the Pic…very sexy mama!!
Thanks for sharing your insights Elisa…I’ve always admired your sense of style (since high school…LOL). i’ll keep reading as you post, hopefully i’ll learn a thing or two…
